Disclosure: I’m a direct buyer who charges sellers no fees, so I’m one of the alternatives here. All figures come from each platform’s own pricing page, linked below, checked September 2026.

| Asking price | Listing packages | Success fee |
|---|---|---|
| Under $10K | $29 (60 days), $49 (3 months), $199 (6 months) | See pricing page |
| $10K–$49.9K | $49, $399 or $599 (6 months) | 10% |

NDA and confidentiality protection costs an extra $199 on the two cheapest packages and is included in the higher ones. Without it, your listing, and the numbers in it, is visible to anyone, including competitors.
What does Empire Flippers charge?
Empire Flippers charges a flat $10,000 on any sale up to about $66,667, and 15% of the sale price from there up to $700,000. Above that, the rate drops:
| Sale price | Commission |
|---|---|
| Up to ~$66,667 | $10,000 flat |
| ~$66,667–$700,000 | 15% of the sale price |
| $700,000–$5M | 8% on the amount above $700,000 |
| Above $5M | 2.5% on the amount above $5M |

The $10,000 floor is the key number for small apps: on a $40,000 sale it’s a quarter of the price.
What does Acquire.com charge sellers?
Acquire.com charges a closing fee of 6–8% of the sale price plus a monthly listing fee, both scaled to your asking price:
| Asking price | Closing fee | Monthly fee |
|---|---|---|
| Under $250K | 8% | $25 |
| $250K–$1M | 7% | $50 |
| Above $1M | 6% | $100 |

The monthly fee adds up while you wait: Acquire.com reports an average of 81 days on market, roughly three months of fees. The marketplace leans toward SaaS, and its multiples report covers SaaS rather than mobile apps.
What do Microns, TrustMRR and FE International charge?
Microns charges 6–10% with no listing fee; TrustMRR 1.5–6% depending on which of its pages you read; FE International doesn’t publish its fees.
- Microns: 10% from $1,000, 8% from $10,000, 6% from $100,000, no listing fee. It only accepts profitable projects at least 5 months old with paying customers (Microns pricing).
- FE International: an M&A advisor for larger deals. It doesn’t publish a fee schedule, but its own guide says a professional advisor will charge “up to 15%” (FE International).
- TrustMRR: its fees page says 1.5% for the seller (half of a 3% closing fee) plus half the Escrow.com fee; its seller page says 4–6% plus a listing fee from $29. More in TrustMRR vs selling directly.
- Tiny Acquisitions: often listed as a small-project marketplace, but its site (tinyacquisitions.com) didn’t load in September 2026, so I’ve left it out.
For how these compare beyond price (audience, privacy, fit), see Flippa alternatives, or one platform at a time: Acquire.com, Microns, TrustMRR.
What would you net on a $25K, $50K and $100K app sale?
Anywhere from 60% to 100% of the price on a $25K sale, and 85–100% on a $100K sale, depending on the route. Simple arithmetic from the published schedules above, before escrow and tax:
| Route | $25,000 sale | $50,000 sale | $100,000 sale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flippa (10% + listing package) | $21,901–$22,451 | $44,301–$44,871 | Check Flippa’s pricing page |
| Empire Flippers | $15,000 | $40,000 | $85,000 |
| Acquire.com (8% + $25/month) | $23,000 − monthly fees | $46,000 − monthly fees | $92,000 − monthly fees |
| Microns | $23,000 | $46,000 | $94,000 |
| Direct buyer (e.g. me) | $25,000 | $50,000 | $100,000 |
Based on each platform’s pricing page, checked September 2026. The same app won’t necessarily sell for the same price on every route. Compare net offers, not headline prices. Try any price in the app sale fee calculator.
Is Flippa (or Empire Flippers, or Acquire.com) worth it for an app?
Only if buyers bid the price up by more than the fee, and nothing guarantees that. The fee is certain; the higher price isn’t, and many listings never sell at all. Brokers do real work (vetting, preparing the listing, managing negotiation), but on an app-sized deal you pay for it with a large share of your exit.
It’s less likely to be worth it when the app is small (fixed minimums and listing fees weigh heavily), when privacy matters (public listings), or when you can’t spend weeks screening buyers.
How do escrow fees add up?
Escrow typically adds roughly 1–3% on top of any platform fee, and buyer and seller agree who pays. Escrow.com’s calculator for domain and website transactions showed these standard tiers in September 2026:
| Transaction value | Approx. fee |
|---|---|
| Up to $5,000 | 2.6% (min. $50) |
| $5,000–$50,000 | 2.4% (min. $130) |
| $50,000–$200,000 | 1.9% |
| $200,000–$500,000 | 1.5% |
| $500,000–$1,000,000 | 1.2% |
Check the live calculator before you agree; tiers change. How escrow works step by step: app sale escrow.
Can I sell my app without fees?
Yes. By selling directly to a buyer, you pay no listing fee and no commission; escrow is the only common cost, and it’s often split. That’s how I buy: deals from $10K to $1M+, for apps that have been live for at least 6 months with steady revenue. I mainly buy iOS apps, and I’m open to Android apps when the fit is right. I don’t buy games, SaaS, or web-only products. You keep the full price, and the deal typically closes about 14 days after the first message. Compare what you’d net using the table above.
If that sounds useful, you can sell your app directly to me. I usually reply within a few hours. Not sure what to ask for? Start with how much is my app worth.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Flippa charge sellers?
A listing package (from $29 for small listings, and $49–$699 for apps priced $10K–$99.9K) plus a 10% success fee in those bands, as of September 2026. For apps priced above $100K, check Flippa’s pricing page.
Does Flippa charge a fee if my app doesn’t sell?
The success fee is only charged when a sale completes. The listing package pays for listing your app for a set period (60 days to 6 months), not for selling it. Check Flippa’s terms before you buy one.
What is Empire Flippers’ commission?
A flat $10,000 on sales up to about $66,667, then 15% of the sale price up to $700,000, with lower rates above that (Empire Flippers, checked September 2026).
Is Acquire.com cheaper than Flippa?
On the success fee, yes: 8% under $250K versus Flippa’s 10%. But Acquire.com adds a monthly fee ($25 under $250K) for as long as you’re listed, while Flippa charges a one-off listing package.
Who pays the escrow fee in an app sale?
It’s negotiable. Splitting it 50/50 is common, and some buyers pay it in full.
